One of the most important things in hunting is shot placement. Only take a shot if you have a good, clean shot. If you do not, then don’t take the shot. A bad shot just isn’t worth it. Number one, there is the possibility that you could injure the animal rather than killing it. And not only do you want to kill it, but you want to kill it quickly. That’s just our ethical obligation as hunters. Number two – there is a huge difference in the taste of the meat when you drop an animal instantly as opposed to injuring it and having it run around before dying. In my opinion, this is such an important issue that I am making this one of my first posts. Below is a diagram of where to correctly shoot a deer. Know it and use it.
